Quality Assurance Technician | Southern University Shreveport Louisiana

 

Responsibilities:

Perform inspections and tests on production and raw materials, adhering to standardized procedures.

Maintain equipment calibration and records, promptly reporting any quality concerns to management.

Record and manage data using Excel and other systems, including labeling product containers.

Document standards in use, generate Certificates of Analysis (CoA), and ensure accurate paperwork submission.

Operate various instruments, communicate product statuses across shifts, and assist in batch investigations of complaints.

Follow safety, waste, and chemical handling protocols in an organized laboratory and inspection areas.

Fulfill other duties as assigned by management to contribute to team success.

 

Requirements:

Completion of high school or equivalent education.

College degree in Chemistry

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Flexibility and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.

Self-directed with effective priority-setting abilities.

Urgent and proactive approach to addressing quality control issues.

Competence in working with chemicals.

Clear reading and writing abilities.

Alignment with company values and policies.

Proficient math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, decimals, fractions, and unit conversions.

 

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

Standing and sitting for long periods at a time

Ability to lift and move material (up to 50 lbs.)

Occasional overtime and shift flexibility

No travel required

Pay: $18-$22 an hour

Shift: Monday-Friday
